Spin.
God forbid, words be all that I have, all that I am. For they fail me, just as the way washing machines choose to boycott me on the day I have a full load of laundry. And when they do, where does that leave me? Nobody gives the one with a full load of laundry another chance, they look at you and you are the one who chose to put all your eggs in one basket, all your laundry in one load—please...

Passion & Silence;
You know how it’s like when you’re a baby, sleep seems to be the best thing the world can offer you—nothing else matters more than being under(your)cover(s), in the comfort of your bed.
Every once in a while, we encounter days like these, where the weather seems to be tweaked in such a way that we’re compelled to straddle the thin line that separates reality and...

she acts like summer and walks like rain;
Everything is different here—although I realized that’ll be the understatement of the year—from the way my hair falls; the way the only source of heat is emitted artificially from a rectangular metal plate that looks like it were the missing cover of a storage container bought from Ikea; of course, one could try huddling up under one’s safety blanket in hopes that with...

Happy One Month !
So it’s been a month (exactly) since I moved to little Halmstad, Sweden.
Feels like I have been living here all my life, except for the fact that I speak Swedish like I have had anaesthesia shot at my tongue, I still slip on the icy roads when I walk to school sometimes, I have to stare a good 5 minutes at the labels in the supermarket to make sure I’m not buying 30 dollars worth of...

Jag är en utländsk student.
So school has started officially.
And what do we know,
I survived the first day of registering subjects, going from building to building,
seeing coordinators, and well,
basically, the administrative stuff.
Attended my first Swedish Lesson.
Really, Swedish has got to be one interesting language.
I have the hardest time grasping the
intonation, pronounciation and the articulation.
I have...

Bummer Bee.
I like how it is starting to seem much sunnier lately,
At least I see sun rays trying their best to pass through my curtains.
Temperatures have been -2deg on the average but it really doesn’t feel all that cold.
(Wow, I think I make a promising weather broadcaster. /: )
I do hope that just means I am getting used to this weather.
(: Adaptation. Survival of the fittest. Haha.

Don't you see?
This paper chase never ends,
you tell yourself this is it—
this is the last time you are going to run so fast,
chase so hard.
You tell yourself,
there is no way I am going to be
sucked into this vicious cycle of
of letters and gradings.
But time and time again,
here we are again,
books in hand,
numbers in mind—
deciding, contemplating.
Why should my future be determined...

on remembering; the forgotten
Remembering is not the opposite of Forgetting.
I remember your face, the way you move, the sound of your voice, the lightness in your laugh.
I am constantly reminded of you and your idiosyncracies.
I am revisiting you, and the ways you are, in my mind—
Replaying it like a broken record.
Remembering is just like a broken record:
It goes on and on and on.
You go through the steps in...

So You Think You're Swedish?
I thought it should be about time I updated
about the happenings with me in this little town of Halmstad, Sweden so far.
So walking seems to be a norm in this town,
I have been walking wherever I go,
exploring the corners of this place
I should learn to call home for the next few months.
All is fine, the people are crazy-friendly still
(But I think I am catching on with the...

You make my soul weak.
Let me tell you, this is what it is like:
The world is spinning out of its orbital control,
Here I am,
defying space and time,
defining space and time.
This is the way it is,
Irrationality meets Logic.
Am I being paradoxical?
Let me tell you, this is what it is like:
The world has become
exponential bursts of
rainbow-blue and meadow-green.
This is the way it is,
There is no logical...

Happy Birthday Old Man.
It’s Daddy’s birthday today,
I think I have forgotten how old he is—
Sometimes he acts like he is 68, sometimes he acts like he’s 10,
but I think he really is .. 52
(Digression: I stopped typing and started calculating.
Of course, being a shit-ass Arts Student.
I miscalculated.
I thought he was turning 62.
And guess what I freaked out—
about how I always...

Phase One.
So Chapter One of Halmstad has come to an end,
the brother has left for France and here I am,
hopefully ready to embark on the next chapter of my Swedish adventure.
School starts only in two weeks,
so shall I say, for now, I will indulge in some good o’ alone time,
walk the streets of Halmstad, people-watch a little,
till, for example, I need to borrow salt, eggs, or something.
